I moved to Chinnor almost 8 years ago having spent most of my life living and working in Surrey.
Why did I choose Chinnor? Not quite sure really. It was a cold wet Saturday afternoon and the last house to be viewed that day. You would go a long way to fine somewhere like Chinnor which can offer such a variety of interests covering all ages. So graudally finding my feet. it has turned out to be a good choice.
Having knocked the house into shape, I then realised, that, in order to become part of the Community I just had to get out there and join in. Extremely daunting when you know no one and, your own your own.
However, my first step was to join Chinnor Players. They were just so welcoming and I now sit on the Chinnor Players committee as well as representing them on the Chinnor Village Hall committee.
Being a dog walker has been a great way to meet lots of people, amazing the different conversations which go on when walking round fields.
In July 2011 I took on the responsibility of handling the bookings for Chinnor Village Hall. I have met so many lovely residents who all enjoy our wonderful facilities. Long may it last. Then in April 2017 I opted to be Vice Chairman as well.
Now retired from my full time job in IT, every Wednesday and Saturday, during the season you will find me at Waddesdon Manor being a room steward, and last year I joined the marvellous group of volunteers selling poppies for the British Legion.
I am also on hand for babysitting, decorating, and anything else my children feel I should be on the team for. Obviously I still have my uses.
Hopefully this all tells you a little bit about me, and I look forward to meeting many more of you when you're making your Chinnor Village Hall bookings.
